NEW TESTAMENT: WEEK IV

In our study of the New Testament this week, we see a shift in perspective. Jesus begins to point his followers out, towards Jerusalem. And as they go out, Jesus asks, “Who do you say that I am?”. This week, like the disciples, we must reflect on who Jesus is and what he means for the world.

Questions -

1 - Who do you say that Jesus is?

NEW TESTAMENT: WEEK III

Our readings this week tell of a shift in the teachings of Jesus to his disciples - a shift marked by the change in terminology from “disciple” - one who lives according to a particular teacher - to “apostle” - one sent out.

Question -

1 - Which teaching of Jesus are you drawn to in this week’s readings? Why?

NEW TESTAMENT: WEEK II

In this week’s Biblical Wild, Bishop Ousley considers the passage of Matthew in which Jesus gives the Sermon on the Mount, laying out his understanding of the Kingdom of God - a portion of scripture that has been interpreted by some to support a prosperity gospel. Is that what Jesus is really saying to us?

Questions -

1 - When have you asked and sought, or knocked and received? Not received?

2 - How did these experiences shape your faith?
