THE BIBLICAL WILD?

The Biblical Wild is an interactive bible study for individuals, small groups, neighborhoods, and congregations where we will journey into the wilds of Holy Scripture through daily readings of the Old Testament and Psalms and weekly video reflections presented by the Rt. Rev. Todd Ousley, former bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Eastern Michigan.

This week we begin our study of the wisdom literature - a study grounded in knowledge, instruction, and imagination.

The Book of Proverbs is a set of pithy statements that inform our moral approach to community. Bishop Ousley asks us to consider the proverbs that inform our lives.

Exercise -

Work with a partner or group to examine proverbs that call to you.

Billy Joel sings that "only the good die young." It's a clear part of human experience to wrestle with understanding of why bad things happen to good people and why there is suffering and pain in this world.

This week, we'll take a closer look at the passages in Job to see what insights might be revealed.
