Week XLV: Hosea 7-Joel 3, Psalms 103-108
The Book of Joel begins with swarming and hopping and destroying locusts who leave nothing behind. The imagery of locusts quickly shifts to an invading army and the imagery of a land laid waste is reinforced. Thus begins a poetic cycle of judgement, repentance, and mercy that should be all too familiar to us by now.
Questions -
1 - How have you experienced repentance as restorative?
2 - Was this experience painful? Merciful? Both?
