WHAT IS

THE BIBLICAL WILD?

The Biblical Wild is an interactive bible study for individuals, small groups, neighborhoods, and congregations where we will journey into the wilds of Holy Scripture through daily readings of the Old Testament and Psalms and weekly video reflections presented by the Rt. As we continue on through Kings, we discover that one one level, the reign of Solomon appears to be prosperous and effective even as the people act in ways that disregard the authority of YHWH.

This week we visit the Christ Enrichment Center in downtown Flint, Michigan; a city marked by the fall of an industry that, like Solomon, once appeared to have it all.

Questions to consider:

1 - In what ways do you affirm God's ultimate rule over your life?

2 - In what ways do you deny God's rule in your life?

Continuing on through the Old Testament, we find King David on the brink of death as others position themselves to take over.

Join us in the grandeur of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Flint, Michigan as we learn about the succession of the Davidic line and the reinforcement of Jerusalem as the center of world, power, and divine presence.

Questions to consider:

1 - What place is at the center of your own understanding as a beloved child of God?

We're back at the Castle Park this week as we continue the narrative in Samuel.

We continue to see an ongoing theme throughout the remainder of Holy Scripture: God's intent is inextricably intertwined with humanity in all of its brokenness, as seen by David's dream of a restored monarchy.

Questions to consider:

1 - How do you experience God's deep commitment to you?

2 - How do you test that divine commitment?
